Set in 2069, Syndicate takes players into a dark, Machiavellian world run without government oversight with many syndicates vying for total dominance of their local market place. With no one to question their intentions or actions, three mega corporations - Eurocorp, Cayman Global, and Aspari - are at the forefront of this brutal war for control of the pivotal American market. In the world of Syndicate, everything is digitally connected, including the people. Players aren't limited to the weapons in their hands. Through DART 6 bio-chip technology implanted in their head, players can slow down time and breach the digital world around them to take down their foes using a variety of upgradable hacking mechanics. Syndicate's blend of fast-paced, futuristic, action shooter settings and story combined with innovative chip breach gameplay instantly immerses players in a unique digital world.
Set in the year 2069, the storyline of Syndicate depicts a dystopian cyberpunk future where traditional governments have collapsed, replaced by massive, unregulated mega-corporations known as Syndicates. These corporate empires control the population by embedding neural chips directly into the brains of the public, granting them access to housing, healthcare, and digital luxuries in exchange for absolute corporate loyalty. However, this has created a stark societal divide between the chipped upper class and the unchipped, impoverished underclass left behind in the slums. Players assume the role of Miles Kilo, the top field Agent for EuroCorp, one of the world's leading mega-corporations. Kilo is armed with the cutting-edge DART 6 bio-chip, allowing him to hack digital systems and manipulate enemy minds in real-time. The plot follows Kilo as he is deployed on corporate espionage missions to steal technology and assassinate rivals from competing Syndicates, such as Aspari. However, as the missions turn increasingly brutal, Kilo uncovers dark corporate secrets about EuroCorp's leadership and his own forgotten past, forcing him to choose between corporate programming and human morality.
